Exciting Event!

There is an exciting event coming up in Calgary on September 26 & 27, 2014, The Creative Stitches and Crafting Alive show. There is always an abundance of creative inspiration at this show along with many other wonderful opportunities such as eye popping displays, classes, and vendors. As usual the Canadian Scrapbooker crew will be on hand promoting the Scrapbook Carnival. For further information please use this link to the Creative Stitches Show.
This year there is also a wonderful opportunity to take part in CHA's Banners of Hope Project. This project began as a way of promoting the art and craft of sewing as well as to put a spotlight or focus on a chosen charity. The Banners of Hope project is one that a variety of groups can take on as a project to promote sewing and at the same time create banners with inspirational messages that would be perfect for various charities and organizations. For this particular show the spotlight will be on Kids Cancer Care. We would love for you to stop by our booth and create a banner with materials donated by a variety of wonderful sponsors. Hope to see you!!

Live from CHA with Charity Wings!

The conference part of CHA in Anaheim began today and the trade show opens tomorrow January 12th. Alas it was not in the cards for me to attend this year. Safe travels and wishes for a great show to all of you who will be attending. If you are not sure what CHA is, it is the Craft and Hobby Association, and I am CHA Designer Member. The annual Winter conference and trade show is held in Anaheim and it is one of the biggest shows I have ever attended. I remember my first time attending way back in 2002 and it was so exciting and overwhelming at the same time. The products, displays everything was a feast for the eyes. This show is typically when many companies launch new products - yummy!  I thought you might enjoy getting in on the CHA buzz so I thought I would share this link to Live from CHA with Charity Wings with you.  Charity Wings is a non-profit organization and their mission is...
"Our Mission is two-fold, to support Artists, Crafters, and Scrapbookers who want to raise money and awareness for their favorite causes; and to offer the community unique opportunities to give." Charity Wings will be providing three days of live streaming from CHA, interviews and sneak peeks of products. I encourage you to visit and get in on the CHA buzz!
Regarding my regular posts, Blogger is giving me some grief with uploading any photos that are on my computer. So I will work on this, and hopefully be back soon with some more creative ideas! Until then enjoy Live from CHA and find out how you can be a part of making a difference by viewing the different areas of the Charity Wings website while you are there! Till next time, hope your adventures are creative!

Sharon

Back from CHA!

For those of you who are not familiar with CHA it stands for the Craft and Hobby Association. Twice yearly, Winter and Summer a huge trade show and conference is held. This winter the show returned to Anaheim, my favorite location. There is always a buzz around these shows, partly due to all of the new product launches but also the wonderful demonstrations, classes and displays that can be found. It truly is a creative feast. so my apologies for being MIA, I was madly preparing my designer showcase for CHA and then attending the show.
Dyan Reavely - Ranger CHA
Dyan Reaveley journal page in progress
One of my favorite demonstrations was by Dyan Reaveley a signature designer with Ranger. Her line with ranger is called Dylusions and it includes, spray inks, stamps and stencils. Art journaling has become very popular and Dyan makes it look so easy. Within minutes she created beautiful layers and textures in her moleskin art journal, however she says she uses any type of paper. Her demo was interesting, inspiring, educational and fun! Thanks Dyan, I have been inspired to create! Until next time I hope your adventures are creative as well! Creatively yours, Sharon.
