Hello Again!

My sincere apologies, this blog has been severely neglected and I am going to do my best to do a much better job of sharing!

New year and started back into exercising, just wait, this is not an exercise post it’s a creative post, exercising my creativity! Thought I would share this little card that would be perfect for a wedding, anniversary, valentines or just because! I used some older products and some newer ones such as the Vicki Boutin flower and butterfly stamp/die and the Jofy mini script stamp #66. Hope you are inspired to create!

Creatively yours,

Sharon

Tea bag fold Valentine!

Card designed by Sharon M Reinhart February 2020
Hi there, we are in the final countdown to Valentine’s Day and I had to include this special folded one. This card is a side fold card with a couple layers added to the front followed by a black card-stock strip with a flag tail end, then punched hearts using a Fiskars punch, a computer generated sentiment and the focal point is a tea bag folded medallion. This fold is one that I refer to as a basic square fold with a couple fold back progressions. The medallions may be created with any size of square and light weight paper, the weight of photo copy paper or what is referred as text weight paper. Even paper from recycled books works beautifully. You will need eight squares of paper, this medallion makes use of two inch squares of black linen text weight paper. Fold square of paper in half horizontally, unfold, then fold in half vertically, unfold and then complete one diagonal fold and unfold. Collapse the paper into a smaller square by pressing in on the diagonal fold. The progression is completed by folding the top layer back on itself to the folded point edge and then one more fold back to the horizontal fold at center. Apply scor-tape to back of each piece on one folded edge and adhere 8 together to create the medallion. Insert a brad at center followed by a punched heart and then layer to your card! If you would like more tea bag folding inspiration check out my books and online class or DVD, I do have a few copies available for purchase, just leave me a message. Hope you are inspired to create! Happy Valentine’s!

LOVE

Card designed by Sharon M. Reinhart February 2020
There is still time to create some wonderful Valentines! This particular one would be perfect for a guy or a girl. This alphabet template - “Pink Fresh Adore” alphabet is such a great set, it will cut the letter as well as a skinny outline all in one pass! You can mix and match the letters by switching up the outline colour as I did on this card with the red letter and the gold outline. I found it easy to adhere the letter with Scor-tape by Sookwang and then just dotted liquid glue such as Tombow Mono Multi onto the back of the outline piece, worked beautifully! The banner is another one of my go to die templates by TUTTI, love the stitched edges! The gold heart has been created using a Fiskars hand punch and gold mirror card stock. The finishing touches are a few adhesive gold pearls and a sentiment. This sentiment is actually computer generated and then flag ends were created with a hexagon or square hand punch. This card comes together quickly and I encourage you to give it a try! Hope you are inspired to create!

Valentine Inspiration!

Just a quick post to offer up some Valentine card making inspiration and to say Happy Valentine's Day to all!
This card is mainly comprised of Stampin' Up supplies in particular their designer paper and the Be Mine die set. The love word at the bottom is a Recollections die however I know there are many word die templates out there, I am sure you will have one that works perfectly. I would like to give a shout out to my Stampin' Up demonstrator and friend Jennifer Reynard - a very talented lady herself, thanks for always hooking me up with some wonderful supplies!

Card Class Photo Inspiration!

Project designs ©Sharon M. Reinhart September 2015
Here they are! The four projects that we will be working on in our February 13, 2016 class being held at the Thorncliffe Greenview Community Center. The techniques are using Washi tape, thread wrapping, die-cutting, pressure embossing and two different peel off sticker techniques one using tombow markers on vellum. The tag may be created as is, perfect for adhering to a gift bag or a bottle of wine, flavored oils or a box of yummy chocolates, or if desired it can be made into a card. The LOVE card as shown can also be made instead as a Christmas card using an ornament shape and the word MERRY. The class will be held from 1:30 to 4:00 pm. Registration and payment of $25.00 per person is required in advance before February 6th. Please leave me a message if you have any questions or wish to register for this class.

Elegant Stamped Heart!

Project Design ©Sharon M. Reinhart
Just had to share this Valentine card that I made for DH. The inspiration for this card is from a delicate heart image created by the talented Suzanne Cannon of Quietfire Design, it is from set #6248 which is perfect for Valentines, Wedding, Anniversary or simply to let someone special know that they are loved. Just love the beautiful intricate heart that Suzanne has created with her own talented hands! There are wonderful flourishes and in the right hand side a very pretty flower. I chose to leave the image as is without alterations. The flower however would look very beautiful colored with Tombows, Distress Markers, Copics or your medium of choice.
Usually when I purchase unmounted stamps, the first thing I do is apply the cling cushion material - with these stamps you don't have to. I read someplace on Suzanne's site or blog that she often just puts some double sided tape on her mount and then attaches the rubber image. I thought I would put this to the test and voila it is so true! This image of the heart was stamped with only the rubber image on an acrylic mount. Now you are free to adhere the images to cling cushion and its probably recommended but I was very surprised and impressed at how well it stamped using only the mount. I am thrilled to hear that Annie's catalog is now stocking some of Quietfire Design images that I used in my newest book Iris Folding for Life's Special Moments, (not sure if it has officially released but it is up on the Annie's site) and yes it is about iris folding and we have included a variety of materials such as fabric, shimmer sheetz, cardstock, ribbon and papers. I will be sure to keep you posted on this.
The red velvet in this Valentine card is Christmas velvet ribbon that I purchased at the end of the holiday season at a majorly reduced price and its perfect for many other occasions as well. The small hearts are actually punched from the velvet ribbon and in the past I have also used die templates to cut out shapes - love this stuff! My other bargain find was the black glittered band - it is from the wedding section of Michael's and it was 90% off - .53 cents was the cost, can't lose at that. The other addition to this card was a script embossing folder. I hope you enjoy this creation!

Valentine Make & Take!

©Sharon M. Reinhart
Here is a sneak peek of a portion of the card that we are making on January 19th, 2012 at Scrapbooker's Paradise North store (Crowfoot). I hope you will join me between the hours of 11 am to 4 pm. This card is perfect for a guy or a gal, sometimes we find it difficult to create Valentine's for the guys in our life so take this opportunity to be inspired. The cute flap fold on the front is a great technique for many occasions and on the inside we of course make use of a tea bag fold in honor of my book Tea Bag Folding Through The Seasons!
Hope to see you!

Sharon
