Card Class Photo Inspiration!

Here they are! The four projects that we will be working on in our February 13, 2016 class being held at the Thorncliffe Greenview Community Center. The techniques are using Washi tape, thread wrapping, die-cutting, pressure embossing and two different peel off sticker techniques one using tombow markers on vellum. The tag may be created as is, perfect for adhering to a gift bag or a bottle of wine, flavored oils or a box of yummy chocolates, or if desired it can be made into a card. The LOVE card as shown can also be made instead as a Christmas card using an ornament shape and the word MERRY. The class will be held from 1:30 to 4:00 pm. Registration and payment of $25.00 per person is required in advance before February 6th. Please leave me a message if you have any questions or wish to register for this class.

Feburary 13 Class

I thought I would share Card 1 - LOVE-ly Washi tape from my February 13 class being held in the Horizon Room at Thorncliffe Greenview Community Center at 1:30 to 4:00 pm. We will be doing 4 cards ( 3 cards and one large tag that participants can create as a tag or make into a card). Due to the room size, my capacity for this class is 15 participants. Please leave me a message if you are interested in attending. The fee will be $25.00 to be paid in advance in order to hold your spot. I will be posting the remaining cards in future posts. This card makes use of readily available supplies and some that are even available through your grocery and office supply stores. Also, as you can see off to one side, if preferred participants can create this card for Christmas rather than Valentines or Anniversary. Hope you will be able to join us on the creative journey!

February Card Class

Just booked a room at the Thorncliffe Greenview community hall 5600 Center Street N. (Horizon Room) for a card class on Saturday February 13, 2016. I am going to be teaching some of the cards that I designed for the first Annie's Craft Festival. I will post photos shortly, just wanted to give a shout out on this. The class will be from 1:30 to 4 pm, we will be creating 4 cards and the fee is $25.00 per person to be paid in advance in order to hold your spot.

Wonderful Class Resource!

I just have to share a great resource for crafters, Annie's online classes! They have a plethora of classes involving various mediums. I stepped out of my norm and decided to give crochet a try, I truly am a self taught beginner in the crochet world. I really needed some help in order to move forward with this medium. I found this help with an online class taught by a wonderful instructor Ellen Gormley!

This class is called Learn to Crochet! Ellen gives wonderful step by step instruction, inspiration and truly made me feel that I was more than capable! This class is geared to beginners but also takes you to that stage where creating projects is possible and provided. If you would like to learn something new, revisit or refresh yourself in a particular craft or move beyond your present level I would absolutely recommend this class to you. While you are visiting Annie's I encourage you to make use of the free previews available for any class they offer. I also would like to ensure you that my recommendation is based on my own experience and opinions and I am not receiving compensation to complete this review. Thought I would share this cute mini canvas, it was created on one of the 5-inch square kids type canvases that has an image printed on them for kids to color. This particular one is from Royal Brush and often available at Michaels. It would work equally as well using a square cardstock card base. I made use of a pocket scrapbooking panel from Simple Stories at the right side along with thread wrapped hearts and a chevron embossed chipboard alphabet letter. The background is a chevron print paper layered onto a robin's egg blue painted canvas. The final touches are red mini heart brads. Hope you like it! Feel free to use this design for personal use but please do not enter for contests or publication.

Exciting Event!

 

There is an exciting event coming up in Calgary on September 26 & 27, 2014, The Creative Stitches and Crafting Alive show. There is always an abundance of creative inspiration at this show along with many other wonderful opportunities such as eye popping displays, classes, and vendors. As usual the Canadian Scrapbooker crew will be on hand promoting the Scrapbook Carnival. For further information please use this link to the Creative Stitches Show.

This year there is also a wonderful opportunity to take part in CHA's Banners of Hope Project. This project began as a way of promoting the art and craft of sewing as well as to put a spotlight or focus on a chosen charity. The Banners of Hope project is one that a variety of groups can take on as a project to promote sewing and at the same time create banners with inspirational messages that would be perfect for various charities and organizations. For this particular show the spotlight will be on Kids Cancer Care. We would love for you to stop by our booth and create a banner with materials donated by a variety of wonderful sponsors. Hope to see you!!

Quick and Cute Baby Card!

Just wanted to share this cute little card to welcome a new baby! I love the papers many companies have created with pocket scrapbooking in mind! Remember they are equally as fun for use on cards and mini books! This particular paper is from Imaginisce. This little card is created with a teal base card (Stampin' Up) then an embossed dot white layer. Banner accents adorn the left side of the printed panel. I also love banners, they are so easy to create from simply using scissors and cutting down the center and then from each corner to the center cut line or create using punches and die templates. Add a little bow accent to the printed panel and finish with a stamped sentiment. This sentiment is from the Stampin' Up petit pairs set, often it is possible to use a stamp that was meant for the inside, on the card front. Another way to multiply the uses of your stamps.
